The Institute for Social Development through Music (IDSM), the social organization responsible for managing the NEOJIBA PROGRAM (Núcleos Estaduais Juvenis e Infantis da Bahia), announces the opening of a Simplified Selection Process to hire a Conducting Assistant, under a CLT regime.

About the NEOJIBA PROGRAM: 

Created in 2007 as a priority initiative of the Government of the State of Bahia, the program's mission is to promote the development and social integration, primarily of children, adolescents and young people in vulnerable situations through teaching and collective musical practice.

Job details: 

- Position: Conducting Assistant 

- Number: 1 vacancy 

- Working hours: 40 hours a week (full-time) 

- Start date: July/2024 or to be arranged

- Workplace: Parque do Queimado, Rua Saldanha Marinho 10-32 - Liberdade, Salvador/BA 

- Travel Requirements: Availability for travel 

- Remuneration and Benefits: Salary to be agreed + food or meal vouchers of R$524.00 per month, health and dental insurance and life insurance.

Education and Technical Skills:

- Higher degree in Music (Instrument, Singing or Orchestral Conducting) or proven experience in conducting orchestras/instrumental groups using the El Sistema method.

- Previous experience in orchestral management and conducting. - Mastery of an orchestral instrument. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Intermediate computer skills.

Desirable Additional Knowledge:

- Experience with projects based on the principles of Venezuela's El Sistema. 

- People management. 

- Fluency in several languages. 

- Composition and arrangement skills.

Main Activities: 

- Conducting NEOJIBA orchestral and choral groups.

- Advising on and supervising the musical activities of the program's groups. 

- Intermediation of musical issues with the Musical Direction. 

- Participating in exam boards and promoting training.

- Coordination of artistic and pedagogical projects.

- Assistance in choosing repertoires.

- Teamwork, planning and organization. 

- Initiative, analytical skills and leadership. 

- Strategic vision and problem perception

Stages of the Selection Process: 

1. Application and Documentary Assessment: Send CV via google forms, letter of motivation, proof of training or experience and videos via YOUTUBE links, with sample performance on your instrument, conducting an orchestra or instrumental group in performance and conducting a rehearsal of an orchestra or instrumental group (Eliminatory).

2. Interview with HR.

3. Online interview with an examining board (Eliminatory).

4. Practical Test: Conducting a rehearsal and performance with a symphony orchestra. Held at the NEOJIBA Central Center in Salvador, with travel expenses paid by IDSM (Qualifying).

5. Interview with NEOJIBA management.

6. Hiring

Only the final result will be published on the IDSM/NEOJIBA website and social networks. It is imperative that the information and documents provided by candidates are truthful, under penalty of legal liability.
