After the Youth Orchestra of Bahia finishes its series of performances in each country, we will summarize the highlights so that you won’t miss a thing!

The concerts on September 6, 7, and 8 were very special for YOBA. The Youth Orchestra of Bahia surprised the Swiss audience, and it was the first time at the festival that the audience gave a standing ovation to an orchestra. In addition to the positive energy, the audience even participated in a few dances.

The concert on the 7th was the only one that featured the participation of the Belgian pianist Alexander Gurning. He is internationally known for his improvisations, and played alongside the pianist Martha Argerich.

On the 5th, there was a workshop for wooden and metal instruments in the Sylvia Waddilove Foundation music conservatory.
The flash mob on the 6th brought joy to the crowds in the Monthey Shopping Center, especially the children.

ASANBA (Swiss Association of Friends of NEOJIBA) gave the musicians a gift of a boat trip from Ouchy to Montreux.

The Giant Orchestra, with 300 musicians, performed a concert on the 9th, conducted by the young Yuri Azevedo, thus wrapping up NEOJIBA’s stay in Switzerland with the “Brazilian Beats” concert on the same day.
